By accessing or using the RentFix service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and RentFix ("we", "us", "our").
2. Description of Service
RentFix provides:
- AI-assisted generation of maintenance request letter templates
- Reference to relevant Australian residential tenancy legislation
- PDF and Word document generation
- Optional email delivery to property managers
- A law firm or legal service
- A substitute for legal advice
- A guarantee that your landlord will respond or comply
- A tenant advocacy organisation
3. No Legal Advice
The information and letters provided by RentFix are for informational purposes only and do not constitute legal advice. The Service does not create an attorney-client or solicitor-client relationship.
The letters generated are templates based on general information about Australian residential tenancy law. Your specific situation may require different approaches. We strongly recommend:
- Reviewing any letter before sending
- Consulting with your local tenants' union
- Seeking legal advice for complex or urgent matters
- Contacting a community legal centre if you cannot afford a lawyer
4. User Responsibilities
4.1 Accurate Information
You agree to provide accurate and truthful information when using the Service. You must not:
- Provide false information about maintenance issues
- Misrepresent your identity or tenancy status
- Use the Service to harass or make false claims against property managers or landlords
- Provide contact details for individuals who are not your actual property manager or landlord
4.2 Review Before Sending
You are solely responsible for reviewing any letter generated by the Service before sending it. You should ensure the letter accurately represents your situation and is appropriate to send.
4.3 Lawful Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
5. Third Party Information
When you provide information about property managers, agents, or landlords:
- You represent that this information is accurate to the best of your knowledge
- You represent that you have a legitimate reason to contact them (i.e., they are your actual property manager or landlord)
- You accept responsibility for any consequences of providing inaccurate information
6. Payment and Refunds
6.1 Pricing
Current pricing is displayed on the Service. Prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST.
6.2 Payment Processing
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details.
6.3 Refund Policy
Due to the nature of digital content:
- Refunds are generally not provided once a letter has been generated and unlocked
- If there is a technical error preventing you from accessing your letter, contact us for assistance
- Refund requests are considered on a case-by-case basis

7. Intellectual Property
7.1 Our Content
The Service, including its design, code, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by RentFix and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
7.2 Your Letters
You retain ownership of the content you provide and the customised portions of your generated letters. You grant us a limited licence to process this content to provide the Service.
8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
8.1 No Guarantees
We do not guarantee that:
- The Service will be available at all times
- Letters generated will achieve your desired outcome
- Property managers or landlords will respond or comply
- The legal information referenced is current or applicable to your situation
8.2 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service
- We are not liable for any actions taken by third parties (landlords, agents, tribunals)
8.3 Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy conferred by the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RentFix and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third party rights
- Any content you provide to the Service
10. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
11. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by email or notice on the Service.
Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland for any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
14. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and RentFix regarding the Service.
